Welcome

Manx Loaghtan

This was an interesting fiber to spin. It has a 2-3 inch staple was was an extremely high close crimp fiber. I will say, it didn’t make the smoothest yarn, definitely better for outerwear or non-skin applications.

It did long draw very well and was pretty enjoyable to spin. It needed low takeup, average to low twist.

It became very dense once spun. While spinning it thin, it became quite hard but overall, it was easy to get various thickness of singles with it.

I enjoyed spinning it but it won’t be a common used fiber for me, mainly because it is going to be a little more difficult to obtain and it is coarser than other fibers.

The yarn poofed nicely but still maintained it’s coarser feel. It does look very nice. If you are looking for a sturdy outer layer yarn, this is it!
